What does bacteria, and fungi do for man and beast?

A lot of things. I'll give some small examples.

The first, a bad thing, is that they get us sick! We get a lot of diseases from bacteri and fungi.

Some good things they do is that a lot of bacteria, about 700 different kinds, live inside our large intestine and help in digesting food. When they digest our waste they also produce a lot of important vitamins for us. Without them we would not have a lot of vitamins.

Bacteria also live on our skin and help kill other bacteria that would normally make us sick.

We can also get a lot of antibiotics and drugs from bacteria and fungi. Penicillin is one example, which was originally derived from a fungus (but now we can synthetically make it).

These are just a few examples. What does bacteria, and fungi do for man and beast?
Bacteria can be helpful because it is naturally in the stomach and helps to break down food. I cant think of anything for fungus. What does bacteria, and fungi do for man and beast?

right off the bat they aid in digestion and nutrition by breaking down food into its organic makeup for absorbation, this is also done in nature with dead plants, animals ect.
