What are two reasons fungi are not in the plant kingdom?

1. Fungi do not produce energy through photosynthesis.





2. Fungal cell walls are composed of chitin rather than cellulose.What are two reasons fungi are not in the plant kingdom?
Fungi cannot photosynthesize (they are not autotrophs) and they carry out extracellular digestion. The presence of chitin in their cell walls also distinguishes them from plants.
